The boat
... The boat's name - “Zahir” - means something that is very large, that fills the horizon and the mind. Something that is impossible to ignore. Zahir is an Arabic term, but used by, among other writers like Paolo Cohello and Jorge Luis Borges.

And it is indeed a formidable vessel, 4.4 meters wide, over 10 tons and nearly 100 square meters of fabric. Electrical sheet winches, -halyard and windlass, along with a powerful bow thruster, makes sailing fun. With a turbocharged Yanmar 75 horses and max-prop propeller we will do a cruising speed of well over 8 knots for the engine. And of course the ship is packed with goodies from Raymarine, a 12-inch plotter on the pedestal on the cockpit table, the latest digital radar and everything else imaginable. In the cockpit there is plenty of room for up to 8 around a huge cockpit table that matches a beautiful teak deck. A cockpit hood / Bimini with good standing room covered outdoor area for shelter from any summer rain showers. Below deck, a well lit modern cubist design provides a cozy setting for evening coffee and cognac.
